Many years ago I heard of this mysterious thing called the Dark Mountain Project. Some sort of manifesto; a minor keyed jojk over how things got to be the way they are.

I never understood exactly what it was, yet I've been carrying it with me. As a rumour of a possible other world, maybe not so far from ours. A place held by poets, campfires and different meaning-making.

So, when one of the editorial members for our upcoming film A Journey into Transition suggested I interview Dark Mountain co-founder Dougald Hine, I lit up. I hadn’t realised that Dougald was living in Sweden - right here in my jurisdiction. In an old shoe factory, as it turned out.
